 Somehow Twitter and celebrity stalker feeds including popular tabloid magazine Us Weekly have convinced me that I am best friends with today’s trending stars. Via New York Film Academy’s Twitter account, I have up to the moment news on what my favorite Glee stars are rehearsing, thanks to NYFA grads @NayaRivera and @ChordOverstreet. My cell phone buzzed earlier this morning with news that Minka Kelly rejected Jake Gyllenhaal’s invitation of a date. I even know that Martha Stewart thinks her after dinner wine last night tastes like roses and strawberries. Lucky me.

Seriously though, I think it is great that we (civilians, muggles, whatever you want to label the non A-listers of this world) are able to keep up with the daily thoughts, musings, and encouragements of our favorite celebrities. Look back on the early days of Hollywood’s Silent Film Era when we didn’t even know what the voices of our favorite stars sounded like. Celebrities are now judged not only for talent but also for how witty their 140 character tweets can be. And what they cooked for dinner (@heidimontag is deciding between pot roast and braised short ribs at the moment.) …
